Leicester – A Window Of Opportunity?

Leicester sitting second in the league, with a great young manager and every chance of wining promotion to the Promised Land of the Premiership once again. With the transfer window now reopening the next month however could make or brake our season.

The inspirational form of Izzet has been one of our driving forces towards promotion; Izzet covers every blade of grass on the pitch and puts in displays that would make any Premiership manager happy. This being the problem. Izzet’s displays has got himself noticed again, if a potential Premiership suitor offers around 5million for his signature, I can think of 50 million reasons why we are likely to accept it.

This next month needs to be spent not on short-term financial gain but on making sure that come next May we are sitting 1st or 2nd in the league. We need to look at strengthening our squad, Micky Adams has done wonders but we are still a few players short of guaranteeing our promotion. With no cash to splash, loan signings offer us the chance to gain that midfielder and defender wee need to galvanise our side. Available players like Micheal Dubbery and Lee Clark with proven class would be great additions to the squad.

Let's hope Micky makes the most of the January sales, Izzet may well be in the window but lets hope the board keep him there till the conclusion of the season at least.

Cheers,

Finn Clawson
